5/ We also always hear about candy tampering around this time. Truthfully, there's little validity to those stories, but something we should be worried about is traffic. Halloween night sees a spike in pedestrian accidents, especially among kids ages 4–8. Glow sticks and flashlights go a long way.

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

Reminder for Louisiana and others: the pertussis vaccine in current use crosses under 50% vaccine efficacy at around 4.5 years after your last dose and is virtually 0 at 8 years past, and that's in people whose priming (childhood) doses were the whole-cell vaccine.
