This is the current "high-risk" list, I think most people can find something on here. My personal opinion is that if you want to protect yourself or loved ones, it's perfectly ethical to lie in order to get it. We shouldn't have to, but here we are

a bag of shredded Swiss-Gruyère cheese recently purchased at Aldi (who apparently do not have a presence here?) with a “best by” date of Nov 20, 2025 clearly printed on the front, has inflated until the whole package is taut like a Mylar balloon… guess I won’t be using this cheese tonight 😢 a side view of the same bag of cheese, just to emphasize its physique. I’ll note it has been stored appropriately since purchase 🙁

my rescue cat is settling in, curious and gaining confidence, and his willingness to accept gentle pets gives me hope 😊

The Governor of Illinois fired back after Elon Musk personally insulted him on social media Wednesday. “Nothing is more dangerous than getting between JB Pritzker and the buffet table!” Elon Musk wrote from his personal account on the X platform that he owns. X is formerly known as Twitter. Gov. JB Pritzker responded to the message by posting an image of himself purchasing a hot dog at a famous Chicago hot dog stand – the Wieners Circle. “I salute @The WienerCircle, not Nazis.”, he wrote.

Herd immunity requires 95% vaccinated - it’s one of the most contagious diseases. You can catch it by walking into a room where an infected person sneezed two hours ago.
From CDC website: “How it spreads Measles is one of the most contagious of all infectious diseases. Up to 9 out of 10 susceptible people with close contact to a measles patient will develop measles. The virus is transmitted by: Direct contact with infectious droplets. Airborne spread when an infected person breathes, coughs, or sneezes. Measles virus can remain infectious in the air for up to 2 hours after an infected person leaves an area.”

I agree! I was just browsing for a birthday gift for my daughter and look at this very elegant moka pot!
Picture is a screenshot of a silver Bialetti “Moon” moka pot made of stainless steel with a smoothly shaped cylindrical pot reminiscent of an old fashioned percolator. The base is also smoothly rounded, with none of the sharp angles of a typical moka pot. The asymmetric black plastic knob on top angles to a peak above the black plastic handle, suggesting less chance of burning one’s fingers against the metal.

We’re celebrating our new friend’s first #Caturday with us 😻 a month after arriving at the shelter scruffy and flea-ridden. Welcome to your forever home, little buddy.

We brought home a new friend today 😻
A fluffy medium-haired pale ginger flame-point cat lies on his back on light carpet, looking up and to the right of the camera, one fluffy front paw raised above his belly. His blue eyes are dilated in the dim light, he is alert and curious but relaxed, his nose and ear tips are very pink and his white whiskers are long for a smallish cat. He seems content with his new home.
