I've weirdly liked Angel Chivilli for a while now, and I idly wondered if the Yankees could Luke Weaver him, basically. @srbrown70.bsky.social helped me figure that out a bit (not really, but also maybe?). Plus, Patrick on Julien is not to be missed.

I'm testing out some visualizations for a FanGraphs project (coming soon, stay tuned) and I'd love to get some reader feedback. This tool is supposed to convey how frequently batters square the ball up at different LA's. Let me know if you think it does, and what you liked/disliked/want changed:

i've always been pretty good at drawing cars in the sense that my hand does what my brain tells it to do, but i'm only now trying to learn the actual disciplines to do perspectives right & such which means i just do boring drills of drawing straight lines and circles like a little kid in art class

A follow up from @jrodrigues39.bsky.social on his batter aging curves, looking at what they tell us about free agent hitters. Schwarber forced us to redo all the scaling (on the right is the original plot)

Sproat's shown great stuff but shaky command thus far, and grades out well by Movement Spread and Velocity Spread. Seems like a great deal for both sides
