Yesterday I searched google to find out what business week we were in. The AI overview confidently told me it is business week 34. The actual search results confirmed it is business week 35. If genAI can't get such a simple request right, you cannot rely on it for something as complex as advice.
Not going to put the post that inspired this on blast, but ttrpgs have an astoundingly cheap entry price compared to most hobby/entertainment activities, actually! Yes, even D&D, though there are many that are far cheaper still.

WotC literally just put up for preorder at $60 a *288* page book, plus it doesn't come with a bundled PDF and on top of that I don't trust WotC to keep AI-generated art out of their books. $60 for a 400 page book is a steal, especially at the production values of Draw Steel.
I'm running out of combinations of words in which to express that $60 for a 400 page colour rule book is not overpriced. Same goes for a $35 PDF of said book.
This hobby is just too used to and comfy with undervaluing creators and their work.

WotC literally just put up for preorder at $60 a *288* page book, plus it doesn't come with a bundled PDF and on top of that I don't trust WotC to keep AI-generated art out of their books. $60 for a 400 page book is a steal, especially at the production values of Draw Steel.
I have a feeling this is a game I will either love or bounce off of. Looking forward to seeing some reviews!

Very cool news! While in Japan this April I picked up the Sword World core books from Yellow Submarine Akihabara, looking forward to having English versions next to them on the shelf.
Looks like Sword World, the biggest original Japanese TTRPG, is finally getting an official English traslation. Crowdfunding next year but a quickstart pdf is available

RAW, it probably affects the range to the water. Feels like it should increase the range of the attack though!

Hey Bluesky. Need to make a little map? Here's a 4(ish) step way to do that with Affinity Designer. Using the node tool to make the town, the vector brush tool to draw 'roads', and the shape builder tool, to create little pockets in town you can color to highlight important areas. alt for details.
