The Republicans prize the filibuster because it's an effective tool at frustrating and striking down any remotely progressive policy. The Democrats prize the filibuster because without the procedural buffer it provides they would have to go beyond proclaiming their values and actually act upon them.
It's so insane how scared of the filibuster being removed the Dems are lol. They do not fundamentally believe elections should change outcomes.

Reshare: Zephyr is a labor of love, bursting with full-spread illustrations by Federico Sohns. As per their estimate, Sohns would've spent potentially a thousand hours just on the art for the book.

Any attempt to accurately and simply describe what goes in in TTRPGs will result in discovering someone's weird pet issues, but if you keep at it long enough, you'll also discover your own weird pet issues.

A new report last week stated that the average age for a first time home owner is now 40. Life expectancy in the US in 2023 was 78.39 years.

A 50 year mortgage means no average person would own their homes ever. It turns homes into direct rentals from the bank even more than they already are.
The US Trump Administration is reportedly working on 15 year car loans.

US President Donald Trump also posted yesterday regarding allowing 50 year mortgages.

I don’t have a whole lot of advice for people younger than me but the earlier in life you stop worrying about what other people will think and just wholeheartedly enjoy the stuff you like the happier you’ll be
One thing people kind of tell you, but not really, about middle age:

One day you'll be like "oh [thing] looks fun but people will think I'm a loser" about a thing

And then you'll say. Wait a second.

I didn't post it here because I try to keep fundraising campaigns extremely casual. I have no targets to hit, any money raised is money they didn't have yesterday.

But Feeding America works with a LOT of local food banks in the U.S. They can stretch $1 much farther than we can. tilt.fyi/zha10h4OtY

I got this useful bon mot from a middle school teacher recently.

In response to, “I DONT UNDERSTAND,” he calmly said, “okay what steps have you taken to understand?”

And that’s when I realized that a lot of folks have no steps.
