Folks have been telling me they’ve noticed I’ve gotten “a lot more political” on social media this year.
Of course I have.
The circumstances have gotten nightmarishly worse, and the consequences of inaction and staying silent infinitely more obvious.
Everyone needs to get “a lot more political.”

UPDATE! Several senators have filed amendments that, if passed, will significantly strengthen the bill! Please urge your senator to vote for Amendments 1, 4, 5, 6, and 18. This must be done before Wednesday, so the sooner the better. More details...1/5
URGENT Call to Action: The Senate version of the S.2696 is moving out of committee BUT this version does not include any protections for book creators and only contains weak first amendment protections. The timing is tight: please email your senator before Wednesday, Nov. 12! More info:

My kid and I are both having trouble with RCS messages on our phones, and it looks like it might be time to just switch to a different carrier. Anyone have any suggestions? We're on T-Mobile, sorta, in that we both have teracube phones.

I really hate that railing against AI is making me sound like Britta railing against Meow Meow Beenz on COMMUNITY.
I'm gonna keep doing it, though. Maybe I should get some mustard for my face.

I tried to adjust my computer chair and now it won't stay up past a level I describe as "kindergarten." I think it's borken. Shit. I have a lot to do today and that was my best seat.
Anyone know a magic hack for these kinds of chairs? It's got levers on the side and seems to work with air pressure.

They can NEVER replace us. The shitmachines can't even exist without our work. Artists are the only real essential ingredient to Art, never forget that.
Found this on TikTok and it made me emotional ❤️
Artists create universes from nothing.
Being an animator is an intimate understanding of life, environments, physics, what it MEANS to be alive, and the ability to convey the beauty within our world in seconds.

look I know being an engaged citizen IS the work of democracy but it is also the work of elected officials not to create situations where everyone has to be mobilized all the time to prevent them from allowing some kind of Dickensian horror on a Sunday night while you're in between loads of laundry

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.
We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.
A vote for this bill is a mistake.

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.
Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.

8/ the wind at their backs right now I think a strong enough pre-backlash literally right now could change it. And again, even if they have the votes it’s critical that the rest of the caucus does not give them cover. People who want to throw in the towel now shld be crystal clear they want to …

Happy Bram Stoker Day!
The author of Dracula was born today in 1847. I have a goal to someday own and have read everything he wrote. I have most of his novels. Between various collections and printouts I have almost all of the short stories and short non-fiction attributed to him.

Just got back from the local artists' holiday craft market and had a good time.
A couple vendors used AI. Turned my nose up and walked away.
Then I spent my money on alpaca dryer balls. And neat stationery. And some chocolate-covered oreos. I didn't buy that guy's glasswork, but I kinda want to.
