Jessica writes "some messed-up stuff"

She/her. PhD in Egyptology, now I write fiction. The Night Library of Sternendach is my novella in sonnets. The Glass Garden is space horror and family drama.
Will boost almost anything with a bat in it.

Went to see a production of CARRIE: THE MUSICAL yesterday and these boxes in the lobby were just *chef's kiss*.

My 12yo and I made this chicken out of felt and a Martha Stewart pattern I've had on my computer since 2007.

Happy #FridayReads and Happy #Novellavember!

Got this picture of my youngest playing in a tree.

But seriously, if the horror you're reading doesn't have a mysterious, maybe alive, stained glass window in it, what are you even reading?

My friend sent me this little dear over a year ago and I'm sorry it took me so long to take a picture. Happy Halloween, everyone.

Oh yes, let's do!

A post just reminded me that #Novellavember is coming up.

Check out this pest control company's commitment to the bit for Halloween!

Obvs, both figures are part of the control. Spiders are not pests. They are warriors.

Happy Friday, Gabino!

If you're looking to be entranced by a weird, unexplained artifact on a desolate exoplanet along with a team of salvors, have I got the book for you!

I hope I don't get in trouble for not using the adult filter.

We bought a tub of mini croissants and fully half of them looked like this.

Now is a great time to read either of my novellas.

And I'd like to ask folks who have, if they get a moment, to drop a review in the usual places. It would mean a lot to me.

If you see this, quote post with your favorite Pokémon (wrong answers only).

@mcflycahill90.bsky.social's AUDITION FOR THE FOX proved to be exactly the book I needed today, as I was able to read it cover to cover while waiting for a lactose breath test to finish. Made the time much more enjoyable, and the anti-tyranny message was a balm I hadn't expected.

Happy Friday, Gabino and everyone!

I don't know about you, but by us the weather is finally getting that crisp autumn feel.

Whatever your weather, one of my novels will probably be the perfect pairing.

While in town, I saw some Morris Dancers and a murdered Labubu.

It's #BannedBooksWeek!
Stopped by Next Chapter books in Quincy to write postcards to my local reps. If you're in town, stop in. They'll have cards all week and cover the postage!

Saw this AI slop calendar for sale at my local Barnes and Noble and I am not happy about it.

The rest is as ugly as this cover.

Top of the mornin', Gabino!

Want some bittersweet coming of age/deconstructed romance that rhymes? I got you. 'Tis the season.

Poetry not your thing and you'd rather have modern, ragtag salvors investigate a beautiful, terrifying anomaly on a distant planet? I got that, too!

Happy October!

(I'll do a leaf glamor shoot with my second book as soon as the leaves around here cooperate.)
