I think setting the movie on a more cheesy version of Earth really helped with that tbh. But because of that I'm still not convinced they'll fit well once they're shoehorned into the MCU proper.

Agreed.

Nevertheless, it was the first FF movie I've actually enjoyed *at all* - I honestly thought it was impossible for FF to work in live action, so it came as a pleasant surprise.

By the standards of Fantastic Four movies, middling is a great success!

You're packing these jokes in like sardines.

Agreed, "narrative driven" may not make much sense as terminology. Might be more accurate to call it "narrative driving", or "narrative compelling" because it is designed with intent to create story. Eg. rolls force more complex outcomes that in other games would be simple successes or failures.

Obviously they'll ask ChatGPT to find the materials, extract them, and build it. It'll be capable of anything by then, they tell me. 🙄
a man covering his face with his hands next to a coin that says $ mort
Alt: Captain Sisko, a chracter from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, who is face palming. While the hand is still over his face, a second copy of his arm appears from the bottom of the image, rising to his face until it overlaps with the first. This happens on an infinite loop.

Of course there are ways to spend massively more money, like in any hobby. But that is into the area of luxury goods, which is a personal choice, not a requirement. The minimum assets required are few, and unbeatable in value.

In particular it is important to consider the amount of entertainment value you can get out of the rpg you've just purchased, which is theoretically infinite.

Actually, no, that's worth correcting. The +$10 supplement is for the dndbeyond version. Which is arguably a fairer reason to charge a supplement than bundling a pdf.

The fact you also get the pdf included in the price of the print is also not nothing and far from an industry norm. WotC charge a $10 supplement if you want that.

As for a BBEG's fortress, they're probably *not* the BBEG (at least openly) during its construction - no point revealing the threat they pose until their impenetrable defenses are ready to protect them from pesky heroes!

Would you know a dungeon under construction when you saw it? They're typically what remains of ancient temples, military facilities, prisons, etc. Modern equivalents of same may become dungeons by next millennia.
