Yeah, hi, I’m a person with “mobility challenges” (excuse me while I hurl). What we want, by and large, are not expensive, heavy devices that will “help us walk again”, but ramps.

I know, it’s not sexy, as technology invented before Christ, but it is overlooked in favor of…this. Repeatedly.

If you want to understand why so much of the Epstein coverage feels so weirdly icky and bad faith, this article gets at the main dynamic I’m seeing.

The takeaway is that men use allegations of rape as a domination contest. Yelling “rapist” doesn’t always translate into care for survivors.

Heroku was a lot of things to a lot of people. It jump-started the careers of many very smart people. It pioneered a lot of cloud architecture that we now take for granted.

It hasn’t been relevant for a while now, but Heroku’s impact on the industry is undeniable.

It was sure a lot easier to be a “polymath genius” back when everything you needed to know was like music, a guess at chemistry, superstition, religion, and which plants will kill you if you eat them.

Along these lines, if you want to read a fascinating book about how genocide/war/political repression fucks with foodways, including but not restricted to indigenous americans (Pueblo Nations are specifically featured in it) check out The Last Sweet Bite by Michael Shaikh
And almost none of Native American food culture remains. That is how thoroughly, brutally, the genocide went.

A genocide so vast and monstrous it managed to *kill recipes*

Every single culture in earth now uses Native American ingredients, but there are a *literal handful* of places where you can find those ingredients served in their original recipes.

Because ingredients are not recipes.
