Can you believe my little basset hound dude Andy is two years old today? How can he simultaneously be both a lil tiny puppy but also a big strong dog?!

@scott.hanselman.com I've followed you for years and enjoy your content. I'm not trying to be offensive here. I saw your latest NDC talk about AI. Great talk. Talking about ethical AI while MS/OAI and frontier models sourcing their data from the internet...is interesting?

I maxed out my credit card, emptied my savings account, and took out a loan to move from Alabama to Bethesda, MD. I don’t even qualify for unemployment since I’ve only worked at NIH for a month. I will be financially and medically devastated.

Seeking suggestions for anywhere that’s hiring!!
Today, along with 2,000 other NIH employees, I had to clear out my office 😭

It was truly the honor of my life to work with such incredibly passionate people focused on improving human health. I’ve never experienced a more positive culture where *everyone* cared about their job and serving others.

Today I remembered that social media is only as bad as you make it. Mass unfollow and start over. LOTS MORE HOUND DOG PICTURES.

I can't even imagine thinking this. Surely... Surely he is just saying this because he thinks it's scores points with normies.

How could anyone be in politics this long and be such a massive dumbass?
Gerry Connolly says he thought some Republicans would support his motion to subpoena Elon Musk: "My motion to subpoena him, I thought, would have some broader support on the Republican side. It had none."

He also own goaled himself into a gigantic fucking midterm loss. You can't act like the Republicans didn't roll his ass. Sorry.

I'm not trying to be a prick here but rights aren't absolute. (And shouldn't be)

The problem is some rights (guns) are absolute, but others (due process, speech, etc) are conditional.

Some people are bound by the law, but not protected, while others are protected by law but not bound by it.
The truth though…

Three weeks and people aren't angry yet, give it time.

That 60% of respondents want to "deport millions" is pretty scary though.

I actually LOLd there. Having to explain that security vocab isn't DEI is fucking hilarious.

Really maybe seriously sucks...quite a bit.
So here's a great example of how Dems' wordy messaging gets lost in translation (or maybe just sucks).

Jeffries got a rambling Q about what "leverage" Dems had. The Jeffries strategy is to say: Rs run everything, we're not going to bail them out. My quick transcript:

“Democrat elites don’t listen to voters, don’t listen to the members of their own party, and they pretend they know better and that people should just get in line and vote for them…

Pushing people farther and father away is not the way to a Democratic majority”
Instead of mass deportation and economic chaos, we should legalize the 11 million undocumented workers who are already essential to our economy—building our homes, caring for our elderly, and producing our food. Bring them in, and wages rise for everyone. @ayman.msnbc.com

It turns out that when mainstream politicians spend half a century telling voters that Washington is broken and they need someone in there who will Get Stuff Done, they'll eventually go for someone willing to abrogate the Constitution. "No, not like that" probably won't be a very effective response.
This post will generate angry responses, insults. etc. But important info here. Outside the coasts/Beltway, it appears that SOME of what Trump is doing is generating support, is popular with his base. Politically complicates situation for Dems too. www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-a...

Will Stancil sees this post and just starts smearing clown makeup on his face with the flat side of a Bowie knife.
One of the original sins of the Trump era from the standpoint of liberal Democratic strategy, one that continues to plague them to this very day, is the notion that Trumpism and the GOP can and should be treated as different things.

Imagine being mad at Chapo Trap House when you should really be mad at Joe Manchin.
Again, to review, I made a mundane point that many leftists were soft on Trump in 2016 and 2017 - something that anyone involved in political discourse at that time knows is true - and the response was death threats. I am not the problem. The problem is the idea that the left is above critique
