I really really want these athletes to have a great experience, be competitive and perhaps win a gold medal, but, honestly, the thought of hearing "USA!USA!USA!" during their games kinda makes me cringe. If we were any other country the IOC would ask us to march under the olympic flag.

Privelege isn't something we should feel guilty about unless we don't utilize it in a way that lifts those who have been negatively impacted by the way society has installed this inequity. Norm is an example of how to utilize such privilege.
But I just started being active helping out an organization in another part of my life and it’s a stark reminder that while I’m fairly connected as a privileged person trying to help, for the people I am helping, this new institution might be the only place they know of or can trust to help them.
