I'm trying to be concise but here's the long version: whatever bullshit gets brought up by agitators that you think requires you to participate means they are still in charge. you're being a mark if you continue their cycle. instead participate in what *you* want and with the people you like

Thanks to the listeners who have followed along with Grant and I these past four years. The Roundtable will not be back in 2026, and we won’t be able to do the show elsewhere. A bummer, in part because I just had so much fun talking to Grant and Sam twice a week. I’m going to miss that a great deal.
Our status has regretfully shifted to "it's complicated." The Athletic will not be bringing The Roundtable back, and we are asking for permission to yammer about baseball somewhere else. The three of us still want to do it, but ... well, it's complicated.
Hey grant. What happened to the roundtable podcast? Is it still alive?

I wrote some jokes about what these chatbots might actually look like. But I also did some serious digging about this agreement and the company the MLBPA just partnered with.

If the Super Bowl ads were really about the pulse of America we’d have night ham commercials.

We’re damned if we do, and we’re damned if we don’t. As the opening ceremonies are underway in Milan, be sure to read this report about the extreme financial risks LA faces in hosting the next Olympic and Paralympic Games
"The decision on whether to try to cancel or renegotiate the terms of Olympic hosting depends on which you prefer to risk: billions of dollars in losses on hosting the Games, or billions in penalties for not hosting them."

A new @saje-la.bsky.social report by @neildemause.bsky.social is a must-read

LA has limited options to get out of hosting in 2028 — but LA does have options
