Trade Proposal:

Tigers receive: Emmet Sheehan, Roki Sasaki and Alex Freeland.
Dodgers receive: Tarik Skubal

Who says no?
Well ... probably both teams 😅

I just pulled the images from the promotional schedule release, that’s the extent of my knowledge. Either way, these will be a real thing when the respective heritage nights are observed/celebrated.

Max Muncy’s a trip - he said all these years that he only wanted to be in LA, and he has put his month where his mouth is, taking discounted deals, not getting to free agency, etc

I root for guys to get all they can, but sometimes all getting all they want is plenty, good for Muncy

And franchise values are growing faster with a cap because a cap screws the players, so again, why should they agree?
February 12, 2026 at 4:32 PM
1) why would MLBPA agree? “game’s dying” (no it’s not)
2) why would MLBPA even consider a cap without completely open books and expansion of “baseball revs” to include gambling/real estate?

the greatest trick the owners ever pulled was making player salaries public while keeping profits private

What would MLB look like with a salary cap? Everything you need to know about the wide-ranging, game-changing effects, from free agency to, yes, competitive balance

MLB wants an NHL-style hard cap. $240m ceiling, $160m floor could be target

because in my hypothetical, the goal was to have Rortvedt off the 40 regardless, whether they could create a spot or not is immaterial

yes he momentarily needs a spot, you can’t sign him and have 41 on the 40 and then so the subsequent move
February 11, 2026 at 6:09 PM
thinking about the timing of signing Evan Phillips and the DFA of Rortvedt, I think the latter drove the former

like they were always gonna sign Phillips, they just chose now to do it because they felt that if they were going to try to sneak Rortvedt through waivers, now was the time to do it

can’t un-DFA him, they just picked this as the time to try to maneuver him off the 40 man

so many fantasy teams gonna be named “Zach Wheeler’s Rib” and etc
Zack Wheeler kept the rib that was removed to correct his thoracic outlet syndrome. It’s in his closet. He is happy with his progress. Orion Kerkering has a Grade 1 hamstring strain. He’ll be a little behind. So will Michael Mercado (shoulder) and Dan Robert (cardiovascular).

EVAN PHILLIPS IS BACK!

(poor Benny Biceps)
The Dodgers re-signed Evan Phillips on a one-year, $6.5 million deal. Ben Rortvedt was DFA'd.
