Why would they show it? You don’t show weakness in a game of chicken. You don’t cave. The entire thing reflected terribly on them, and Dems gave them a get out of jail free card with zero meaningful concessions. It’s a joke.

The endgame was to secure funding for ACA and SNAP. Holding out here was the only leverage Dems had, and folding here is only going to embolden Rs as they strip away everything and blame the Dems every step of the way. Giving up the only lever they had for a conversation promise is a fucking joke.
