New on Tales from the Backlog- @duckvalentine.bsky.social is back to deep dive Heaven's Vault! It's a remarkable feat of storytelling, and learning the in-game language was a blast. As always, no spoilers for a while!

Metal Garden (Steam Deck, 3.5 hours):
A world encased in metal. Puzzler and FPS, light and succinct. Abysmal checkpoints. The default combat is a little spicier than I'd like, but the exploration is rewarding. The writing and art design evoke strong feelings of solitude and intrigue.

Possessor(s) Knows Who The Real Demons Are - Lex Plays

Possessors concerns itself with necropolitics and the collapse of capitalism, diaspora, and the fullness of two entwined people as they can't help but understand each other.

It's a portrait of two full persons- making do. And inspite of everything fighting to care for each other.

So play it.

Possessor(s) (Steam Deck, 22 hours):
Style and decay. The heart is in the parallel narratives of the characters and how they come to know each other. Fantastic sound design. Compelling color palette. Shirtless demons. Well-rounded toolset for combat and traversal. Good game.

Playing some Ball x Pit, playing some Katamari.

Ball x Pit is easy to fall back on, readily addictive, but Once Upon a Katamari is pure joy. I'm happy whenever it's on. They never miss with the soundtrack.
