I have cultivated a following that does not care about Doom. That tracks.

Doom 2016 (PS5, 18 hours):
A fine-tuned power fantasy. Blasting through demonic undead hoards as an ancient muscular envoy of vengeance is designed to be immensely satisfying. Escalating encounters. Smart checkpoints. Wide weapon and enemy diversity. Cliffhanger ending.

"List the top five concerts you've been to where" etc etc

Listen, I have been to literally five concerts in my entire life. Some of us have social anxiety.

Things that would need to happen to prevent the further rise of fascism in the US:

1) Donald Trump, the supreme court justices that ruled he is allowed to commit crimes, and everyone involved in Epstein's pedophile ring need to be impeached, removed, and prosecuted where applicable.

Reviewers are always saying "this is no different from those other awesome games you liked" as if this will deter me.

Looks like my first must-play of the year is about to drop.
Play as the android MIO and explore the Vessel, an enormous ark overgrown with machines gone rogue. Uncover its secrets, enhance MIO's abilities, and save the spaceship and its residents from oblivion.

Watching Pocahontas with my kid, and the thing that's easy to forget about this movie is that the soundtrack is all bangers, from beginning to end.

KnightLight (Steam Deck, 20 minutes):
Concise puzzle platformer with some neat ideas. Didn't care for all the darkness, but the mechanics were satisfyingly progressive.

Smushi Come Home (Steam Deck, 3.7 hours):
Cute without trying too hard. Platforming and exploring felt rewarding to do. Nice bright colors. The game knows what it is and doesn't overstay. Smushi comes home (spoilers).

Harold Halibut (PS5, 12 hours):
Audaciously slow-paced. A light, cartoonish, character-driven story gradually invites more and more introspection, eventually raising searching questions about worth, change, home, and connection. Left me genuinely contemplative.

Reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall at a sort of unprecedented pace. Frankly it's amazing that all three of the Brontë sisters are this fucking good at writing.

Constance (Steam Deck, 13 hours):
Challenging and beautiful, with clear influence from Hollow Knight and Celeste. Much boss, little exploration. Some fights and traversal sections hit just right. A story of paint and anxiety.

I've been mad at congress doing nothing this whole time, but now I'm mad at the international response. Why are the world's governments letting Donald Trump do whatever the fuck he wants? You are not being a friend to the US, you are enabling its oppressor.

The Chaotic Carnival in Constance is excessive. It's just excessive. 5 bosses, one with 3 phases? I'm at the final boss, and I'm going to beat it soon, but this is way too long to delay me from the other things this game has to offer.

hard 2 explain but I'm finding it more difficult to write with all this "how to write" content everywhere. it's making me think about writing, which is, cruelly enough, bad for writing
