Look if you keep talking about non-voters and you're not mentioning voter suppression in the same breath, you're not serious about addressing the problem of people not voting

In the time following 9/11, even conservatives voiced skepticism of the proposed Department of Homeland Security, writes Ta-Nehisi Coates. Now, Trump seeks to cleanse, purge, and expand this so-called...

Pictured here is one of Noem's especially gifted officers, holding his presumably loaded and chambered weapon between his legs while he struggles to pull the pin on a smoke grenade.

I hope these operator cultists realize just what clowns they actually are and carry that with them for life.

I can't imagine why the Greenlanders aren't lining up to be part of this amazing Republic we've got here.
Note that Karoline Leavitt refuses to answer when asked if Trump backs Miller calling Pretti a "domestic terrorist."

It's now clear Vance miscalculated badly by rushing out to smear the victims and declare ICE has total immunity. This is getting away from them.

This is great. For one thing, protesters are safer in the presence of National Guard soldiers by orders of magnitude. Second, the approach embraced by the Minnesota Army National Guard makes ICE and CBP look so incredibly small and weak.
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Remember the Bundy insanity during the Obama years? Armed guys occupied a federal office and one of their buddies took position with a sniper rifle aimed at federal agents?

Exactly how many of those guys were shot and killed?

Years from now, it'll be difficult to explain the things people in media were wailing about before all this. Sophomores writing underconsidered op-eds about cultural appropriation. Protests against demagogues on campus. YA drama. "Mobs" on Twitter. These were the threats to free society.

yes, this is absolutely all tied together -- arresting local politicians, attempting to steamroll local multi-racial sovereignty, accusing Democrats of corruption, floating "white replacement." it's an old story, and it's rooted in white supremacy.
Late yesterday, AG Bondi sent a letter to Tim Walz in which she demands access to MN's voter rolls as part of restoring "the rule of law." For months, we've been reporting on the overlap between immigration enforcement and voting so, here we go:

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara: "People have had enough. This is the third shooting in less than 3 weeks. The MPD went the entire year last year recovering about 900 guns from the street, arresting hundreds of violent offenders, and we didn't shoot anyone ... this is not sustainable."

Senators should listen. And then do something about it.”

Opinion | ICE is clearly out of control. This week the Senate can actually do something about it.
Alex Pretti's shooting in Minneapolis turned Senate Democrats against ICE and DHS funding at a pivotal moment, with another shutdown looming.

The unions are getting all in.

And I love it.

They have struggled and waffled over trump for a decade.

He attacks unions, but lots of members are / were MAGA.

That scale is tipped.

Unions are strong. Their support of Abolish ICE work is a big deal.
NEWS: @nationalnurses.bsky.social “demands Congress abolish ICE entirely. We will be doing everything in our power to vote out any elected official who supports funding for this all-out assault on the health, safety, and civil rights of our people.”

just gonna throw out a quick reminder that in America police kill a yearly average of 3 civilians per day, routinely in situations very similar to these ICE killings, and decades of explicit support for police impunity by US politicians is why ICE feels theyre able to get away with this right now
Our government is murdering the citizens of this country. They are doing it without any checks on their violence
