Remember that in addition to arresting reporters, the regime deported journalist Mario Guevara after detaining him while covering No Kings Day protests.

“His imprisonment is among the longest for any reporter arrested in connection with their work as a journalist in United States history.”

Timeline cleanser: video of birds enjoying the birdseed I put out during the snowstorm Monday. I was able to see two different woodpeckers in the same video! I saw at least 3 types of woodpeckers, including downy or hairy (I was too far away to tell), northern flicker, and I think red bellied.

Doesn't get more brutal than that in the Church of England

Did you know?

In the Victorian era, many charitable organizations operated soup kitchens, but the poor were often demeaned by the staff.

A lot of soup kitchens put hungry people through poverty tests, which involved asking very personal questions to prove their poor status.

There's a reason that BHO was the single most gifted politician in a generation -- and part of that was that he knew the truth about The American Voter.
Fully vindicated in his belief that Americans were filthy treatlers who'd accept mass unemployment and a slow recovery over borger getting one dollar more expensive

Any money from the next cheque will go toward paying overdue bills ($800+), and the pittance I'm left with will have to be saved just in case for emergencies. Like, if the administration declares martial law and I have to flee over the border to Canada or Mexico. Or a medical emergency. I don't know
Relative just asked to borrow $500, and OMG, I'm sorry I was triggered. I snapped.

"I HAVE ONLY ONE DOLLAR IN THE BANK AND YOU'RE ASKING ME FOR THAT MUCH?! HOW DARE YOU! WHO DO YOU THINK I AM? AN ATM?!!! BECAUSE I HAD A NEGLIGENT WHITE FATHER WHO DIDN'T GIVE A FUCK AS I GREW UP?!"

It's a choice between French and Italian, and I've more done with Italian than French, even though I have taken more classes (from the UK) in Jèrriais and constantly consult and reference French, mainland Norman, and English to define the language as distinct. But that would not be validated here.
I've a choice: I could do the single Spanish major and be done with it in a year, if all classes needed are available that year on rotation. If not, then I've to stay two years, which will land me with a double major in Spanish and English, and a minor in French. Possible History major: Triple.

The arrests of Don Lemon, Georgia Fort, and Jamael Lundy are unacceptable and a clear violation of the Constitution.

This is a dangerous abuse of power that threatens the rights of every single American.

They must be released immediately.

Mass detention camps. Or, as they were called in other contexts (such as South Africa during the Boer War and a few places since), concentration camps.
BIG news from @bloomberg.com, which confirms that ICE has gone ahead and *purchased* multiple commercial warehouses with the aim of converting them into mass detention camps.

This is likely to be the big detention story of 2026 — literal warehousing of people.
