This book is about a whale.
A sound like the moaning in squadrons over Asphaltites of unforgiven ghosts of Gomorrah, ran shuddering through the air.

Ok great movie but if you're going to watch it probably good to know what you're getting into.
5 minutes into If I Had Legs I'd Kick You and I'm already stressed out of my mind.

Everyone relax, this was me.
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

Finally saw Nausicaa, and damn, what a film. In these dark days, ghibli's humanist environmentalism is so moving. It also reminded me a great deal of speaker for the dead. Might have to rework my top Ghibli movies now.

Good film, though I found the bulk of it very melancholy in spite of the comedy. The opening separation, complete with "one last night", was closer to the bone than I expected. But the ending was funny and even sexy. Quite a thing to pull off.
Started watching Preston Sturges' The Palm Beach Story and it's great so far but I didn't expect the first third to make me feel so bad.

I just saw a post about how Marty Supreme has only two dimensional female characters and I don't get that at all.

One thing I find depressing about LLM-assisted coding is that if it eventually works like they say it will—and it's more plausible than most LLM hype—it will probably turn senior dev work, like I do, into code reviews and management and I really hate that.

At their absolute worst, the most annoyingly woke people were never 10% as annoying as the anti-woke crowd. They are the most tedious single-minded constituency in the world and they are unbearable.

Tickets to see Bob Dylan at the same venue, with the same seats, where I saw him last year for $35 are over $600 now.

I generally don't support editing films, but I think new releases of Breakfast at Tiffany's should at least have an option to watch the film without the Mickey Rooney parts, which add nothing and are horrible.

Carnival of Souls (1962) and Hereditary.
Name a horror film that's actually scary

Yeah, because I use one of those clocks that slowly lights up which I adore.
Do people outside of TV and the movies still use alarm clocks? Or does everyone pretty much use their cell phone.

Also there was SO much Stephen King in the finale.
The bar is pretty low but Stranger Things had one of the better endings I've seen for a long running sci fi show.
