Please, if you ask me to share your request for aid, do so without the images of suffering children. I understand you feel the shock necessary, but there are other traumatic experiences than yours, and the images will not only go to those ignorant of your struggles but the ones with trauma.

I think that’s what really gets me when British folks dunk so much on Americans about their politics - not that it’s unearned, but that the way they do it often reveals how little they know (or care!) about the injustices happening in their own country.
