Democrats will not gain votes by indulging in transphobia.

Have a goddamn principle, stand up for trans folks, and people will respect it. It's the right thing to do and better politics.

Kidnapping.

Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping.

Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking.

A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.
stop calling things deportation just because they call it deportation.

-You cannot legally deport people without due process.

-You cannot legally deport citizens.

-They are defining down deportation to break the law.
Leavitt confirmed that the WH is working on deporting US citizens to El Salvador

Just came out of a meeting for my local school district. We're planning financially for next year, and we have to factor in that Title 1 funding may be toast.

If my district is doing this, so is yours. Millions of kids are getting screwed over because Republicans are trying to crown a king.

For posterity and (with luck) eventual prosecution.
The men carrying out Musk's coup are Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran.

Make them famous. And, eventually, when possible, arrest them and charge them with multiple felonies. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

I'm calling my representatives in DC and at the state level, and as a treat, I'm just going to say cusswords here. Feel free to join in as I cuss my way through my civic duty!

Request for recommendation: a good history of the Spanish Civil War. Ideally something both well-written and well-researched.

Thanks in advance!

A thought just occurred to me: Trump's win makes it likely that we have to deal with Justice Aileen Cannon.

Fuck.

This is the most important takeaway from last night, imo. Major kudos to the Harris team for sending this message when I'm sure the impulse is to take a victory lap.

Here's my daughter's cat! Stay safe out there folks!

And please don't fall into conspiracy-type thinking. You'll make this kitty sad.

In this term, the Supreme Court has legalized bribery and basically anything a President wants to do (unless it's things like forgiving student loans or protecting the environment).

Judges with lifetime appointments rule the US quasi-officially now.

The only thing more uncomfortable than attending and speaking up at local political events is telling your kids about the consequences of local politics.

Show up. Talk. Learn. We can make better communities together.

Local politics is such a racket. People get hung up on big national scandals and miss all the nickel and dime BS that wrecks their community

I'm wondering if when reached for comment I gave 3 riddles that the reporter needed to solve before I'd answer, would journalistic ethics require that person to:
1. Solve my riddles 3 and
2. Delay publishing their story until they had my comment?

I'm somewhat worried the answer is yes

you know, there's research showing that platforming fascists just helps spread fascist hate.

you aren't moving the needle by showing them as dumb in an interview. we've been through this a million times with the "debate me bro, let's pay eugenicists to speak on campus" discourse.
