Conflating machine learning tools with GenAI and LLMs are such a favorite of these bad faith arguments, too. Like, machines studying X-rays to better understand cancer is not the same thing as Open AI swallowing all my books via piracy to regurgitate sentences that sound similar. It's just not.

So they're going to do this for one, maybe two games. It'll be full speed ahead until it's 6 months from release and the game is falling apart, at which point they'll pay an insane overtime rate for a QA studio to do it last minute which won't be enough.

important part of the whole AI thing that is helping (meaning: reducing adoption of this technology) is that fact that all companies are so irrationally greedy now that consumers have no reason to expect any savings to be passed to them, which has always been the key to getting lay people on board
