Uncomfortable with a hostile world and our dependence on hostile interests? Me too. But while we're waiting for major strategic turnarounds, we as consumers can help European strategic autonomy in small ways by choosing local solutions such as these.

Always choose European, every little bit helps.

Europe needs to get much more comfortable threatening Trump with serious deterrent measures, and if necessary implementing them. Tariffs, taxes & bans on US firms; selloffs of US Treasuries; expulsions of American troops; sanctions on individuals. Speak his language: strength.
Why should Trump stop at Venezuela? They’re champing at the bit for territorial expansion. Katie Miller, Stephen Miller‘s wife, posted a map of Greenland marked as a US territory with the words „SOON“.

It is IMO immensely helpful that they’re just saying it, right out. It was always like this, but there was previously a pretence that it wasn’t. No longer.

So, Greenland is not the primary target after Venezuela?

Or they have multiple goals for the time forward where Greenland (and therefore Denmark) is one of several targets for US occupation. Trump wants ‘LEBENSRAUM’ for his REICH.

Trump is Hitler of our time. He needs to be crushed!
They're worried about any potential for independent nations and nations not beholden to them in the region. This obviously also threatens EU-LatAm attempts to create new cooperation outside of US exploitation chains too. This is not an us and them situation, it affects everyone, like usual.
Trump signals more Latin American invasions could be next after capturing Maduro
"Something's going to have to be done with Mexico," Trump told Fox and Friends.

Jeg synes situasjonen i dag egentlig illustrerer en ting som ikke diskuteres mer i Norge;

Sidenote: this is why the "war on drugs" needs to be completely and utterly ended. It has from the very beginning been nothing but an excuse to persecute and commit global crimes. It does nothing but further violence both by governments and the cartels, while ordinary people suffer.
Trump on Sheinbaum: "The cartels are running Mexico. She's not running Mexico. We could be politically correct & nice and say, 'Oh, yes, she is.' No no. And I've asked her number times, 'Would you like us to take out the cartels?' ... something is gonna have to be done with Mexico."

The way the US treats the world is abhorrent and damaging to everyone. And it's time to start admitting it is exactly as bad as it is. We won't survive a full century of Pax Americana, because that very term is an oxymoron.

Fredrick er mild i tonen her.

All trade should just stop.
Venezuela now, because he wants the oil.

He wants the oil under Greenland too. And under Canada. He's openly called for them to be part of the USA.

How long before he decides to bomb a couple of NATO members to get his own way?

The USA is a rogue nation.

May you say this a bit stronger so the idiot in the Oval Office understands it??

"The EU is closely monitoring the situation in #Venezuela ."? 🤔

You should condemn it in the strongest terms.
It is clearly against international law.

Very good point, although they've always done exactly as they pleased, it's just that the excuses keep getting flimsier. They are not and have never been a stabilising force in the world. What's happening now is more proof that the US *should* collapse in on itself, for the good of everyone.
A bigger problem IMO is that the USA now consider their laws to have universal jurisdiction above all the rest of the world. Think of the implications.
