I have opinions and know stuff. Minneapolis enby witch with a pain disorder and cats. Part of the local sky cult. In my previous life I was a forensic psychologist, re: child sexual abuse. Now I garden and spread love to counteract my inner angst.
Pretty sure it's the same word here.

I'm going to need everyone who has access to regular health insurance to do the rest of the state a solid and go get your yearly check up. We need some data here to submit for our Federal suit as a State for emotional and physical damages.

My appointment is booked. Good luck, y'all. Tell them!

Y'all, I just got the call for quilters:

"Hiya... Hope you're well.

I am working with my sisters to organise a couple of collaborative resistance quilts.

Although, it's still very much under construction, I finally have the site pages where the Calls For Participation mostly up & functioning."

You can’t have an abortion but you can kill your grown daughter if she disagrees with you
A MAGA freak in Texas murdered his own daughter in cold blood after they had an argument about Trump.

A grand jury in the Dallas area then *declined to indict him*, and he has not yet faced charges.

Seems like many Texans believe a man has the right to kill his own child for disobedience.

I have long opposed Klobuchar as a Comlicicrat. She continued to confirm Trumps picks, and vote along with them. She wanted ICE to operate within their boundaries, she wanted cooperation; and when the Feds killed a citizen, she didn't hit the streets for anything but photo ops.

Racket dug further.
As Minnesota's senior senator runs to replace Tim Walz as governor, her votes and positions on Trump, ICE, and labor should be disqualifying to progressive voters.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day

And tell the world that everything's okay

But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back

There are those of us still trying to to make new connections, connect existing threads, continuing to make it work as best as we can as the support lines thin out. We hope more step in, but it is all we can do right now to keep it together.
The economic need has not changed but the fundraising on a national basis has dropped off at least to some extent, leaving us relying on local networks which are a bit tapped out right now. Local networks were always going to be robust but it was good when national resources were pouring in.

FUCK FREY.
In the Skyway 20 minutes after an ice abduction, mayor Frey walks through the government center. A lady yells at him "what are you doing to stop this? Fuck you." He responds, "is that helpful?" With a smirk on his face.

I got the biggest hug from my chiropractor this morning because we realized we weren't just in a patient-doctor relationship anymore 🥺

This is how our lives are changing in Minneapolis, in Minnesota. We are comforting and being comforted, and hurting so much. This is working on deep level.
Living in Minnesota right now feels like being in the emergency room. Literally everyone is suffering in different ways, even if it's "just" a badly twisted ankle rather than a kidney stone or a full-on heart attack. The staff are working as hard as they can but energy and resources are dwindling.

Told someone today when they asked about their negative behavior, "so how do we fix this?" (Note the "we" 😒)

"You can't change the past. You can only change your behavior going forward and make sure it doesn't happen going forward, right?"

Babies, you cannot unpluck that chicken. Just be better.

Y'all, all the flat tires 😅

I think the city isn't fixing the pot holes because the locals should know where they are.

Are we not reporting them? I'm not reporting them this year... good luck dodging!

When I tell people that Puerto Rico is my favorite place to visit because it reminds me of Minnesota, this story is exactly what I mean. They are welcoming and gracious, friendly and casually kind. And there is art and nature everywhere, just like here, because they love it so much.
I was invited to a con in Puerto Rico soon after the hurricane. They were rebuilding everywhere, parts of the island were still without power. Trump was of course screwing them over.

I didn't feel it was right to go, but I was told repeatedly to please come, they needed tourism back.

Just saw a guy with his pants rolled up. Y'all, this does not count. It has to be SHORTS... If you're local, dig out your summer gear. I know it's early morning yet, he's probably out of coffee and running to the store so I'll give him a pass. But LOCALS HAVE SHORTS.

I believe Walz, Frey, Witt, O'Hara genuinely want the ICE surge out of MN and Minneapolis. Some of them genuinely might want all of ICE out for good. At the same time, the ICE surge is not an existential threat to their jobs/careers. The appearance of disorder in the streets is. An uprising is.

I've been having such a hard week physically and mentally. The cats have really been clinging to me and insisting on my getting up for meals, knocking over my medications, resetting my nervous system with their goofy antics. These furry little life savers, y'know?

On the off chance this message makes it to all the journalists in America, I want you to know this: if you are softening your reporting on the horrors being perpetrated by this administration because you’re afraid of losing access, they are being very public with their intentions and strategies.
