I have opinions and know stuff. Minneapolis enby witch with a pain disorder and cats. Part of the local sky cult. In my previous life I was a forensic psychologist, re: child sexual abuse. Now I garden and spread love to counteract my inner angst.
As is tradition, I have caught some sort of cold and I get to spend the rest of the vacation sneezing and napping.
At least this time it isn't some plague that makes me wish I was dead. I just get to stay in my pajamas and don't have to participate in extra family activities!

Last night as my son and husband were arguing over who got the last shrimp, I snatched it up and ate it in front of them.
They stared at me in disbelief.
I said, "that was my fourth shrimp."

I'm the only one of my family in the living room. I've had a full pot of coffee and I'm wondering where everyone is, then remember they are all raised Jewish. We flop between this and the Catholic family too often. 😅

Have lost the new cat somewhere in the house. She went exploring and didn't like me following, so I let her be. And now I don't know where she is. I assume if she's stuck somewhere she'll make noise eventually 😆
We have platform beds, so not under any beds, that's a choice made long ago!

Happy first day to new cats!
More than a year in the shelter, and she is a total love bug. How did anyone miss her? This is one of the few times she walked away from me. She likes snuggling so much I find her hidden in the pillows when I come back after a long time (over 10 mins) away. ☺️

New member of the household is decompressing. She doled out a year's worth of love in a mere few hours, so she needs a minute to recover. I think she's ready for the responsibility of household management. As soon as she gets used to the noises.

My landlord finally mentioned the lions while dropping off ice melt for the back door yesterday 😅
I promised no silhouettes of leaning cowboys, or anything silly like that in the yard. He laughed and said he liked them. I continue to get away with improving his property.

One of my dear friends works for a flood/fire restoration company, and sometimes I get lucky. My new friends here are a little sooty and damaged from the fire, but I think they're going to fit right in. Still thinking of names.

It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

I'm just terrified for my neighbors, they're snatching brown folks, no warrant, and everyone is being traumatized. I had to talk down my neighbor/coworker who just got caught up in the middle of an ICE raid. He was furious, scared, confused. This should be every night, start of every broadcast!
