I’d ask my navy vet husband if he’s watched yesterday’s pep rally where Pete Hegseth banned beards and weight gain, but if he’s gonna have a stroke I feel like it should come from something actually worth the time/effort like our kid getting a nose piercing or a tree falling on our house

But that doesn’t mean he’s wrong. He’s very, very right. 💛

Husband found All Women’s Sports Network on Pluto and we’re camped out for a late-night Minnesota Roller Derby bout 😍

Bless the @rosecityrollers.bsky.social announcers for mispronouncing Lefse for Dead’s name, that tracks. Such a great Midwestern name.

So exhausted from hustling & singing for public health’s meager supper (& the health of Minnesotans) when what works to build a budget is apparently just fear-mongering & racism.

A hard week for folks who believe in gov’t to make life, liberty, & the pursuit of happiness a real thing for *everyone*

Catching a @rosecityrollers.bsky.social game online tonight; massive heart eyes to the broadcast announcers with fantastic commentary and banter. So solid 😍

For the first half of my kindergarten year, my family lived in a shitty little apartment complex somewhere in Central Texas. I forget where. I think Waco? Copperas Cove? We moved around a lot. If memory serves correctly, I attended three different schools that year.

Strib's Ka Vang nails it 👏 "We are, essentially, expected to be a dress that is also secretly a skirt, and while that sounds useful, it’s actually just another outfit designed for containment. The dress doesn’t liberate us. It camouflages the labor."

Here for @austwu.bsky.social 's donut theory of development in Minnesota. Accurate.
Glad to have this out in @streets.mn. In considering the culprits in a variety of contemporary maladies -- climate change, challenges with municipal finances, traffic casualties, rising transportation costs -- a primary suspect throughout is suburban growth, in exchange stagnation and decline in ...

Minnesota’s suburban “donut” has devoured resources, jobs and hospitals — deepening decline in both rural towns and inner-city neighborhoods.

The parade St. Paul threw to honor Olympic gymnast and hometown heroine Suni Lee had significantly more impressive turnout than Trump's birthday party.
It’s 6:04 p.m. in D.C., and we have parading. Crowd has filled in a bit at the route front, but mainly one deep along Constitution Avenue.

CDC leadership just told staff on Monday that they could stop sending their "5 things I did last week" emails. Finally.

Per source, people were mostly just sending the same things every week. Many folks added read receipts and were able to see that no one at DOGE was actually reading the emails.
