And it was quasi-required; everyone had a writing intensive first semester of first year, on a huge spread of topics. Mine was this one. Dear friend @s4dfish.com had a math writing intensive on the strategy of the game of Go, if I remember right. Still can’t figure out how that one worked.

My favorite class, totally in this vein, was “Youth Culture and Rebellion in Post-WWII America.” It covered James Dean and Kerouac, Freedom Riders, early ‘80s punk, all the good stuff. This was 1999, small Midwest liberal arts college, first college class I ever had.

I freaking loved that class.
