if you’re tired of users telling you to use alt text, JUST FUCKING DO IT. the app automatically detects text on mobile. it’s literally a copy/paste job. communication is a two-way street. some people don’t use their eyes for that. it’s not a big deal. don’t be a dick.

I just want people outside of Minneapolis to watch this and imagine listening to that noise over you literally all the time
laying candles at a vigil for alex pettri in loring park after he was shot by ICE today in minneapolis under the noisy state patrol helicopter that has been a constant presence

Currently, resisting rest over here.

Exhausted from today but not ready to wake up to another tomorrow. It’s all absolutely trauma filled terrifying.

What has you awake, late nighters?
What fresh horrors will tomorrow bring.

us: we don't want our neighbors to be kidnapped and we use our iPhones to discuss ways to help them

them: obviously this is a sprawling professional organization funded by a billionaire and run by the illuminati

I can't put into words the feeling of watching our government, a hive of evil antisocial filth, the absolute worst humanity has to offer, colliding with the best. Ordinary people trying to help each other, risking everything to stand up for what's plainly, unambiguously fair and right. It's unreal

Imagine what’s happening in the camps.
Imagine how much they’d be lying about what happened without all the videos showing it from multiple angles.

It's the PTO moms and spreadsheet dads and other random-ass Minnesotans concerned for their neighbors. There is no one central organizing org, just a ton of people who give a shit. It's both beautiful that it's happening and laughable that anyone thinks there's some broader apparatus at work.
James O'Keefe says he's never seen anything so organized as the anti-ICE movement, observers--he seems to think this term is code--everywhere he goes. Who is paying for it??? he demands to know. It's like he can't even imagine people caring for one another.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

People might argue that ICE is not recruiting quality agents.

But I would insist that they are in fact successfully recruiting the exact sort of person needed to carry out the mission: reactionary, angry, violent people who don’t believe in democracy.

Opinion | ICE's violence is no accident
Alan Elrod: The killing of a woman by an immigration enforcement officer in Minneapolis was the raw application of Trumpist authoritarianism.

Rolling into midnight, high as all heck, sipping coffee & cream, hitting play on Eras tour.

Awake with rage at every elected official not meeting this historic moment while ICE agents continue to execute our neighbors in our streets.

It’s abolish & prosecute ICE or stand down. Demand it, friends.

dear @governorwalz.mn.gov,

may you respond with a fuck off.
BREAKING:

Pam Bondi has sent a letter to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz demanding, in part, that state officials turn over voter records to the Justice Department.

If you don't think you can run a campaign on "Abolish ICE," you shouldn't be running for any office.
nearly 20% of republicans in support of abolishing ICE should be a major alarm for this administration
YouGov is out with a new poll after ICE killed another person in Minnesota today. Abolishing ICE is now +5 among all adults, and **+12 among independents**

Because then she saw us bundle up and stand with neighbors. The groceries we have to drop off at the school for families. The reflective vests we wear to patrol. The grief is valuable. Once you realize that you can keep going with a broken heart- you're unstoppable.
Ahhh, there is no playing stoic here, the tears roll down my cheeks unbidden. I kiss my girl and wet her sweater. She pats my face.

-9F. Walking down sidewalk on 25th, block from memorial. Guy ahead of me, alone but w/ a Hamms at his side. Locals recognize this from a mile away.

“Hamms huh!” “Yeah, you need one?”

“Naw, thanks though. You local?”

“Yeah woke up to gun shots”

“Aw man, get some sleep huh”

“You too”

My sister and I marched with a few friends. The whole afternoon felt so jubilant & hopeful - there was laughter! Turned on the news this AM to recount some of the joy, & ended up watching a local reporter get tear-gassed while covering another murder. We’re gonna get through this together. We are. ❤️

I’m gonna rally tomorrow & I’d like to say something to pep myself up now but fuck.
