One thing I really appreciate about Dungeon Meshi is that it doesn't just default its fantasy world to Dragon Quest. Like I understand the shorthand and the cultural cache that DQ has but it is refreshing to see a mangaka extend a little bit beyond simple cookie-cutter fantasy world with Demon King.

My wife had a single line in Kung Fu Panda 17 years ago and still gets checks every few months. Most are way smaller than this, but devs get $0 even though the games we work on will likely be sold for 10+ years soooo yeah.
