the most annoying thing about the "trans people are all easily triggered" propaganda is that even ostensible allies think they have to walk on egg shells around us despite basically every trans person i know having incredibly thick skin. like relax it's fine just be normal it's seriously nbd

Gentle recommendation to have a hobby that you can 1) do on your own time 2) are not doing for livelihood or career 3) can grow your skill in over time, and 4) can focus on for chunks of time where you can tune other things out. I spent a couple hours last night developing film and it was excellent

Blowback Season 6's trailer is out and its going to be about Angola- I'm very excited. I'm a big fan of the program and Noah Kulwin is a good friend. No one seems to have posted it on Bluesky both because it has only appeared on twitter and its more than a minute long (damn Bluesky!), so I will

jokes on me, after years spent wondering why the political press seem never to have heard of Reconstruction or the red scare etc, some guy at Politico just learned about the New Deal from a reader tip & wikipedia and put it in a newsletter
a good example of how the world is getting dumber. the new politico playbook writer didn't know who FDR was until a reader told him about that whole "new deal" thing. this newsletter is read by every important person in DC.

We normalized mass infection so thoroughly that even healthcare workers, who see the consequences firsthand, don’t feel entitled to the most basic protections. They clock in, accept the risk, get sick & come back to do it again—thus Covid abandonment has made these hard jobs even more brutal.

It’s not just policy failure—it’s ideological. Masking is framed as *my* need, *my* vulnerability, not as a collective necessity. Even when they acknowledge how much sickness is spreading, protecting themselves (even from having to work through illness) isn’t part of the equation

Such a stark contrast. Inside my room: care, caution, masking. Outside, in the hallway: nothing. Same ppl who masked for me walk straight into spaces they *themselves* call a petri dish, unmasked. Pre-Covid, I’d mask in hospitals & staff would say, “You know what? I’m keeping mine on today.”

Can't stress enough how important it is to care for our nervous systems right now and in the days, months and years to come. All of that fear and anxiety will take a toll on us. Take time to breathe, feel it and let it move through you. Even if all you can do is 5-15mins a day, that can do wonders.
