Baristas are on strike. So guess what? Starbucks doesn’t get a dime.

We stand with the workers — not the billionaire brewing union busting on the side. #NoContractNoCoffee

Since contrarianism is the watchword of the media, one might get the idea there is a racist backlash amongst young people. But that’s not true, it’s the contrarians and media who have the problem.

The kids are alright.
Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

In a world of Chuck Schumers, choose to be a Floyd B. Olson.
The workers had an ace in the hole: Governor Floyd Olson. Hormel naturally expected Olson to send in the National Guard to get rid of the strikers. After all, that had been standard procedure for strikebreaking for decades. But Olson refused.

This Day in Labor History: November 10, 1933. Workers at the Hormel plant in Austin, Minnesota sat down on the job. The win these workers achieved helped set up the labor militancy of the New Deal era that revolutionized the lives of American labor!!!!

I can’t vote in Minneapolis.
But if I could, I would vote for DeWayne Davis.
The polls are officially open, Minneapolis!

Today you can choose a different course for our city. You can choose a mayor who cares as much about your city and your neighbors as I know you do.

We deserve better, Minneapolis. Rank me first when you vote today so we can do better – together.

I won’t let Trump use hunger as a political weapon.

His Department of Agriculture has multiple ways to continue feeding hungry Minnesotans during the shutdown. And instead of using it, they tried to take food off the table of kids and families across the country.
