The UK is within spitting distance of having more murders portrayed annually on TV shows and movies set in the country than occur in real life
It's so incredible how low homicide rates are in Europe. The UK, with a population of 70 million people, had fewer than 600 murders in 2023.

Unrelated to my point here but the sense of time in OBAA is so weird. You're telling me the French 75 were active in the mid to late 2000s (assuming the majority of the movie takes place in modern day)? They were doing this post 9/11 but pre-Occupy when everything they're doing is so 60s-70s coded.
Lowkey, kinda disappointed with "One Battle After Another". I think it's a very good thriller, PTA is a very good director we all know this. But for a story about marginalized people, the near complete absence of queer people is very noticeable.

i think bluesky needs to decide what they're making. if they're making a protocol, like some of their developers say, they should shut down the social media app that's causing them so many problems. if they're making a social media app, they have to engage with it like adults.

Okay, I'm now on Season 3 and I fully imagined a forcefem Inside Number 9 episode, and for a solid 5 mins I was convinced it existed.
I'm currently watching Inside Number 9, and I am largely enjoying it but dear god, you can tell it was written by two straight white middle-aged dudes.
I'm still very much liking it, and there have been some absolute cracking episodes.
