More importantly immigrants pay millions in taxes whereas ICE costs millions so it's a 2x multi million tax loss. We need to crystallize & galvanize this in conservative thinking. The safety net works better with open immigration, it's a win/win

Being undocumented is a civil offense, not a criminal one. That's why they're not entitled to a court-appointed lawyer, why it's "civil detention" not a jail, why it's not in the criminal code, etc. Other civil infractions are things like parking tickets.
