If you are roasting a turkey this thanksgiving (and that's easier than you think it is) please please please make your own gravy. It will take your meal to the next level, I promise.

I have a whole list of books I recommend for people dealing with burnout (or trying to recover), but the one that comes to mind with this thread is "Work Won't Love You Back" by Sarah Jaffe. It even has a great section about non-profits and "care" work.
I'm not sure which of you need to hear this, but:
If you push yourself to your limits and burn out for a company, you are trading years of your future productivity for minor gains in the present.
Burning out will _fuck you up_, it's like brain fog or depression, and it takes years to recover

I had to fill out an absurd amount of forms for the new office my therapist is moving to. And some of the questions were like:
Describe your childhood, in detail.
What the fuck? No. I'm literally just continuing an existing therapeutic relationship at a new building.
