Also if anyone wants to know how to make a roast turkey or gravy for thanksgiving, I will teach you.
If you are roasting a turkey this thanksgiving (and that's easier than you think it is) please please please make your own gravy. It will take your meal to the next level, I promise.
I fear I have fallen head over heels down into the Heated Rivalry obsession. If you need me I'll be yapping about the gay hockey boys, eating tuna melts at the cottage and listening to t.A.T.u.

The Portland Frog(s). They reminded me that it's good to be ridiculous actually.
What gave you courage in 2025?

I read all of the gay hockey books.

I’m delighted to open submissions for my anthology, "Passing Strange: Queer Weird Arthurian Tales"! We're wanting Arthurian stories with LGBTQ+ protags and spec-fic elements.

Check out the Submissions page on my website! Link in comments.

Everyone knows that real MEN don't have dogs.

Hey Septimus, doesn't your husband have dogs?

He's not a real MAN. I made him out of clay.
Threads is just wild because what the fuck

From a post I saw on facebook:

Are the X-Men Sci-Fi or Fantasy? Discuss.
a woman is sitting on a couch talking to herself .
Alt: A gif of a women in a poofy black wig and a bright purple sweater saying "Talk Amongst yourselves"

I have a whole list of books I recommend for people dealing with burnout (or trying to recover), but the one that comes to mind with this thread is "Work Won't Love You Back" by Sarah Jaffe. It even has a great section about non-profits and "care" work.
I'm not sure which of you need to hear this, but:

If you push yourself to your limits and burn out for a company, you are trading years of your future productivity for minor gains in the present.

Burning out will _fuck you up_, it's like brain fog or depression, and it takes years to recover

Let's talk about the burden of being the only one in your family who knows how 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc cousins work...

I'm getting really fucking sick of how hard it is to copy + paste languages that are written right to left.

There will be a day when I don't' wish that my sick co-workers "fell" better. But today is apparently not that day. Oops.
December 26, 2025 at 3:00 PM
Today is apparently a foot care day. Pampered myself a bit in the shower. What are your favorite lotions and potions that are good for cracked heels?

Mixed feelings about the flood of "Happy Hannukah" texts I'm getting today from co-workers. Like, I know they mean well, but it's not Hanukkah. It's been over since Monday night...
Hanukkah isn't the same day as Christmas.

Happy Erev Christmas to all those who celebrate it!

I had to fill out an absurd amount of forms for the new office my therapist is moving to. And some of the questions were like:

Describe your childhood, in detail.

What the fuck? No. I'm literally just continuing an existing therapeutic relationship at a new building.

My therapist is moving to a new practice and won't have any openings for at least a month... Joy.

It's very fitting that the last night of Hanukah fell on the Winter Solstice. The most light on the darkest day. When it's as dark as it gets out there, we make our own light.

I have read
the book
about the gay
hockey players

that everyone
keeps recommending.
and tells me
is so good.

It was cute.
but mostly
just smut.

Y'all, we made it!

Happy Solstice!

Google Photos did a 2025 Wrapped and it was so cute! I took like 1,000 photos of my dogs!

I'm having a really hard time coping with everything right now, so here is small reminder that on Monday (12/22) we will have a little bit more daylight than on Sunday.
