One year ago, we learned Long Covid rates rose to 20% from conservative estimates of 10% the year before. It’s 2025 and just as researches warned, repeat infections have brought Long Covid rates up to 25-30%

Are you ready to N95 mask or do you want to join 40% of people with Long Covid next year? 😷

Disabled people have been screaming about fascism for years.

We screamed when the government rushed “back to normal” with respect to Covid & said we would be left by the wayside.

We screamed about mask bans.

We pointed out that pandemics historically lead to fascism 🧵

You guys, Mamdani was the only Democratic candidate running who categorically opposed mask bans

He was running against an establishment man with name recognition, huge amounts of funding & a history of abandoning the most vulnerable to die of covid

This feels like a huge win for vulnerable people

Hey @ipaccanada.bsky.social are you done unmasking the future yet?

Because there are airborne infections to control, and...you kind of suck at this.

Please make sure you do the following as quickly as possible, especially if you are immunocompromised:

1. Get every vaccine you need

2. Buy some high-quality masks (KF94, KN95 or N95).

These fools that Kennedy just appointed are going to cause the reemergence of vaccine-preventable disease.

Disabled people have been warning that the “embrace mass covid reinfections” narrative was first pushed by anti vax right wing libertarians, now they’ve consolidated power. They are against disease mitigation and have pushed anti mitigation ideas mainstream.
A little more on RFK's new vaccine committee:

Malone - claimed vaccines cause AIDS

Kulldorff - promoted mass COVID infection

Meissner - opposed vaccines and masks for kids

Pebsworth - worked at antivax nonprofit

Levi - FL Surgeon General cited his paper when recommending not to get COVID vax

Pierre Poilievre admitting in the debate that he's going to suspend the Charter of Rights and Freedoms so he can defend the charter rights of the people he deems to be worthy should terrify everyone.

Seeing what's happening in the US with ICE he wants the same thing in Canada

When he was Prime Minister, Harper was the worst national leader in the democratic world. He was THE global dinosaur & obstructionist on the #ClimateCrisis, attacked science & evidence by muzzling scientists & gutting the census, & more.

And that was all BEFORE MAGA.

Poilievre will be much worse.
Seems like a good time to remind us about how bad a Prime Minister Stephen Harper was, and how bad he’s been since losing, putting all his energy into championing extreme right wing autocrats around the world, including Trump/MAGA.

Harper was campaigning with Poilievre yesterday. Two peas in a pod.
Every time Pierre Poilievre brings up Mark Carney’s history with Justin Trudeau as an attack (which will be pretty much constant), Canadians should remember Poilievre’s much longer/ongoing (and much more concerning) relationship with Stephen Harper. And through Harper, every right-wing autocrat.

1/ Epic failure of public health across Canada, who enabled anti-vaxxers by ignoring COVID & touting pro-infection 'hybrid immunity +eugenicist 'healthy kids are fine'.

199 little kids under 5 plus another 413 children with measles since Oct 2024. UNVACCINATED KIDS DON'T DESERVE TO SUFFER.

Don't forget CERB which the Liberal gov't implemented when COVID started and without it, my partner and I wouldn't have been able to pay rent or buy food because his work was shut down. With the potential for an H5N1 pandemic, would PP provide a similar social safety net? I don't trust him at all.
Compare and Contrast
This liberal government instituted:
-Canada Child Benefit
-school lunch program
-child care program
-pharmacare
-dental care for low income Canadians
A CPC government under Pierre Poilievre:
-will get rid of all these things

People keep saying Covid is here to stay and we’ve “learned to live with it”.

No we haven’t. We’ve capitulated to it.

We’ve accepted repeat infections as inevitable.

Learning to live with it would involve clean air, masks in healthcare, better tests & treatments and free respirators

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

Back in the blizzard of election bullshit, yet again, to remind you that polls are made up.

If you are paying for the poll, the "pollster" can come back with data to support any point you want to make.

Don't share them, don't believe them. You're participating in a voter suppression effort.

The “it’s just a cold” narrative has done so much damage. People have forgotten it’s a novel virus.

5 years in the lifespan of a new disease is nothing. Science takes time. We won’t know the full long term implications of repeated COVID infections for awhile, but what we DO know, is not encouraging
