Buff is amazing color. It is a rich and warm gold, the color of a summer sunset on warm rocks or a distant mountain.
Buff was also adopted as an official color of the Whigs in old Britain and the Whig Party in the US. Buff is associated with liberalism writ large. What's up with that?

the rules are meant to be followed until it becomes time to break them
This is not a flag that cares if you find it pretty or sophisticated it cares that you treat those it represents as people and when you can do that you can have your pretty aesthetics and your neat rainbow but right now this flag says be gay do vexological crimes
The very fact this is such a visual assault of colour and shape gives the flag its power as a symbol of change

After a reactionary majority backed by NIMBY water view landowners was elected to the Huntington Beach city council in 2022 - sound familiar, Seattle? - they put an issue on the ballot to ban all flags except go't flags on gov't property. It passed, 22% turnout, 58% yes. Enjoy your city flag, HB!

We were sad to not see the Everett city flag, a painfully vacuous corporate-logo SOB, at the Everett Station today.
Sure, the Everett city flag is terrible - in an extremely boring, uninteresting way - but they've always had the civic gumption to fly the durn thing anyway.
