When my name indicated I was female, I got a lot of “well actually”. The DAY I changed it that stopped. What happened? I thought this was the *woke* site.

My posts got suppressed when I made comments critical of CNN. Then I got a new follower every day 🤨

Bluesky isn’t what I hoped it would be. The comments are full of bots, and nobody can see my posts ever since I went after CNN for failing at their job. I’m taking a break.

You don't deserve to be shamed or punished for choices you made to survive-- physically, emotionally, economically or socially. Abusers & bullies keep us stuck by convincing us we need to "pay" for "choices" that weren't true choices-- but self harm or destruction is not justice.

As a Black liberal woman in Texas:

If you’ve never taught, fundraised, organized, or tried to turn the tide in a substantial way in a red state: shut up and take notes from the people who have. A lot of you wouldn’t survive with your souls intact if you lived and worked here.
If you comment on any of my posts that Red states deserved to be destroyed by disasters I will block you so fucking fast. You don’t get to lose your humanity just because a bunch of fascists have. Just pretend you’re smart enough to understand the complexities of politics, dweebs.

“U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, acknowledged that the United States can accept the gift…”
I think Chuck needs to take another look at that emoluments clause.

Qatar's offer to gift a luxury jet to the Trump administration is causing controversy, with U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, expressing concerns over national security.

Media folks going on now about "how Biden fucked us" - no THEY did. They went along with the ruse that "we don't primary an incumbant," blacklisting any other candidate and playing guardian of the establishment status quo. Blaming it all on Biden is a way of trying to sidestep their own complicity.

“I was hungry and you cut my SNAP benefits.”

The same politicians who preach Christian values are the ones slashing programs that feed the poor.

We may be atheists, but we know compassion beats cruelty — and feeding the hungry beats quoting scripture.
Let’s clear something up: SNAP stands for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program — the LARGEST federal program to fight hunger in the country!

It blows my mind that the party that touts its “Christian values” is the same party that is SET on taking food from the hungry.

@mango-sauce.bsky.social Of course he did.

I guess I know the response letter I’ll get:

“Hey, if the president doesn’t have to pay for it, it’s ok!”

Never lose sight of how weird and corrupt it is for the president to have his unelected, unconfirmed oligarch friend—his biggest campaign donor—conduct US foreign policy.

No other US president did that, and there’s no reason to think he’s representing the American people rather than himself.

Aw shucks you mean we could have gotten affordable drugs without all the fascism?
Very funny to see this news and remember that when Sam Hammond, who is not an effective altruist, wrote “the EA case for Trump 2024,” his first pro-Trump argument was that Kamala would kill millions by wrecking pharma innovation via the exact policy Trump is announcing today

What happened before Mayor Baraka’s arrest needs daylight.

Did masked ICE agents let him in just so they could arrest and perp walk him to send a message of fear. Because that’s what it looks like.

We’re sliding into fascism—and fast. And if we don’t stop it now, we may not get another chance.

Every book published in the United States is sent to the Library of Congress. Also, if you are under 16 you cannot use the reading room or order books.
Reporter: The president fired the Librarian of Congress. Why?

Leavitt: There were quite concerning things she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.

This new Texas law copies anti-Jewish legislation in pre-war Nazi Germany. That legislation consisted of a series of restrictive laws passed in 1933, then the Nuremberg Laws of 1935.

This is not an exaggeration.
