My first tricycle was passed on by the next door neighbours, whose kid couldn't ride it any more because of polio. I was three years younger, caught the vaccine window.

Write to peers. Tell them what you think. Support assisted dying. A small number of peers are about to kill the #AssistedDyingBill. Not only would this be undemocratic and an abuse of their power, it would come as a uninimagable tragedy to terminally ill people.

Over and over again, Keir Starmer has given Trump what he wants, in order to avoid US tariffs.

Now Trump wants to annex Greenland – and he's putting tariffs on the UK for opposing it.

The UK can't keep giving in to tariff threats. It's time for Europe to come together to take Trump on.

It’s a method for testing your ideas against reality (and then changing your views if they don’t hold up). In science, finding out that your hypothesis was wrong isn’t a personal failure. It’s a good thing. It’s how understanding improves. Humanism applies the same approach to life. By using evidence, staying open to new ideas, and being willing to change our minds if the facts point the other way. A German-language news alert, reading; Verteidigungsministerium Bundeswehr schickt Erkundungsteam nach Grönland Deutschland, Schweden und Norwegen entsenden vor dem Hintergrund der US-Ansprüche auf Grönland Militärpersonal auf die Insel. Ein Sprecher der Bundesregierung sagte der Nachrichtenagentur Reuters, man werde morgen ein gutes Dutzend Bundeswehrsoldaten als Erkundungsteam auf die zu Dänemark gehörende Insel schicken. Zuerst hatte die Bild-Zeitung berichtet. Mehr dazu in Kürze. Diese Nachricht wurde am 14.01.2026 im Programm Deutschlandfunk gesendet.
