Every single woman you know has had this happen to her. Even the goddamn president of Mexico.
Brava: “If I don’t file a complaint, then what message does that send to all Mexican women?” Ms. Sheinbaum said at her daily news conference, noting sexual harassment was a crime… “If this can happen to the president, what’s going to happen to all the young women & women across our country?”

Anderson Cooper, normalizing an authoritarian: "Shouldn't voters obey in advance? Isn't not obeying in advance a hassle? Aren't I, as an extremely wealthy scion, the wrong person for this job? But isn't my gotcha question sparkly?"
In the 1st question of his brief interview with Mamdani. Anderson Cooper reports Trump’s strongman threats to punish NYC if the Mayoral candidate is elected, as if he gets to select where funding goes according to his whims, & then asks whether voters will find it “worth the hassle” to vote for him.

What we don't talk about enough is the dignity harm suffered by women who have to share the public sphere with guys who go around talking about our bodies like we're a public resource whose use and distribution they're qualified to determine.

I put off listening to Klein/Coates for a day in self-preservation. Plugged in today and a third of the way in I've had to take a break. Klein's inability to actually listen to and truly respond to what Coates is saying is staggering.

It’s been said before but this idea that Republicans have captured the spirit of the volk, and Democrats must imitate them to appeal to the “real” Americans, also concedes that all the people Republicans target for indignity and repression—here, women—are less American than others.

The notion that Republicans are the more real Americans, whose authenticity Democrats must pay tribute to with imitation, persistence even though it is contradicted by more and more actual empirical evidence.
I genuinely cannot believe that Ezra Klein said we should run pro-life candidates in Kansas, Ohio, and Missouri; three states that recently held abortion referendums where the pro-choice side won!

I had. It was me. I had written one. www.prindleinstitute.org/2023/02/on-j...

We're already in a crippling bankruptcy due to a decade+ of my medical bills and the resulting disability that prevents me from working full time. Eventually I'm going to do a medical fundraiser, so maybe put a nickel aside for us right now. And any advice on how to fundraise would be appreciated.
Tomorrow we wake up and Pardner fasts while i start hammering the phones to get P into hospital. Jaundice has P looking like a Simpsons family member rn, but i guess the blockage causing that + this pancreatic cancer diagnosis is no big deal.

I know people are doing their best, but the system kills
Dr called and said get Pardner to hospital asap and that it's all arranged and approved. Drive 90 mins to Cleveland and are told by someone else that there are no beds, go home.

So now we wait to see if Doctor, whose nurse swears every I and T was handled, can intervene.

Pardner is struggling bad.

"Since when have American flags been lowered to half-mast for a ragebait YouTuber? Why would a podcaster who never held office deserve a Capitol monument? And why are elected Democrats and institutions participating in and encouraging this?"
Since Charlie Kirk was fatally shot, people on the left have been censored, punished, and targeted with more violence for telling the truth about Kirk's legacy. The cycle continues: mainstream whitewashing of violence begets more violence and the victims are blamed.

It seems less remarkable next to Trump, but sometimes I'm reminded how Vance is by a wide margin the least experienced and qualified person to ever become VP. He had won one election in his life and spent only two years in public office.
it is always worth remembering that vance made a conscious decision to be a person of low character. he has eagerly contorted himself into evil for the sake of what amounts to a whiff of power.
This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.
