Just have Bond get hurt in the opening act, and have a scene where he’s gets bandaged up, someone comments on how bad it looks, and he says he’s had worse. Done.
And even that’s unnecessary, canon exists to uplift the story, not limit it. If there’s a conflict, just tell the story you want anyways

Just have Bond get hurt in the opening act, and have a scene where he’s gets bandaged up, someone comments on how bad it looks, and he says he’s had worse. Done.
