Starfighter as a Starkiller/Skywalker-esque name is the kind of dumb fun I can get behind conceptually though

Ryan Gosling IS Chad Starfighter IN Star Wars: Starfighter, and he's GOTTA fight them stars, in some kind of war
Deeply funny to me that we know so little about Star Wars: Starfighter at the moment, but every time we DO learn something it makes it seem like the movie has, in fact, very little to do with starfighters at all

I've seen the first six episodes of Starfleet Academy: it's pretty good!

Very much succeeding Discovery in setting and style, it has some of that series' weaknesses, but builds on its strengths.

Some will hate it for silly reasons, some valid ones. But if you stick with it there's great stuff.
'Starfleet Academy' Is a Solid Successor to the 'Star Trek' Legacy
'Starfleet Academy' follows on in the style of 'Discovery,' for better and occasionally worse—but builds something interesting of its own out of inheriting the legacy of 'Star Trek.'

Yes, I somehow figured out a way to write about the gay hockey show with a genre angle—a little bit about Heated Rivalry's Mystique sight gag, both a fun tribute to Canada's history with X-Men moviemaking but also Mystique's own story of having to spend decades in a glass closet in the comics.
The 'Heated Rivalry' Mystique Reference Is More Than Just a Movie Gag
The gay hockey romance sensation has a brief nod to Canada's superhero moviemaking history—one that has a wonderfully queer comics legacy behind it, too.

the fun thing about being the one doing the star wars portion of our yearly previews is that ever since we started doing them a few years ago my longshot predictions have been catastrophically wrong because they were things I wanted

this year I fear my longshot bet will happen because I *don't*
The Year Ahead in 'Star Wars'
2026 marks another major transitory period for the galaxy far, far away—as it tries to return to movie theaters for the first time in almost seven years.

very ambivalent by lego's new smart bricks, much less ambivalent about them launching with a bunch of Star Wars sets that look really bad and cost a shitton more than they should, tbh
Lego's New 'Star Wars' Smart Brick Sets Look Like a Big Risk
Lego is using the galaxy far, far away to launch one of its biggest innovations in years... and it's already raising eyebrows.

Does anyone know where the "we hate this finale and there must be a secret extra episode" thing started? I know fans speculated hard with Sherlock in 2017, and I remember it happening for Killing Eve as well. Peacemaker, too, though mostly everyone treated that like a joke.
