Hello, blue-skied world!

By way of introduction: I’m a teacher, teacher-educator, scholar, academic mama. I’m also a bread-maker, a musician, and a trail runner. I care a lot about public schools and what happens in them.

For my politics, see: Bernie, Reich, AOC.

And Freire. Always Freire.

The entire right-wing propaganda machine came after Zohran Mamdani.

The president and his allies came after him.

Democratic leaders, by and large, did not have his back until the last minute.

He still won, turning out historic numbers and inspiring young voters.

His politics can win anywhere.

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress, or our allies, or fully explaining to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.

Reminder that Congress has the power to stop all of this. Where the hell are they? Hello?

Divider-in-chief. I'd forgotten how nauseating it is to listen to a president politicize a tragedy, to debase and disparage his opponents at a moment that calls for reflection and healing.

My manifesto (er, article) is out in AERA Open today! It’s about how #neoliberal & #racial capitalist logic worms its way into far too many project-based learning experiences, and what #educators can do about it. Come for the righteous anger. Stay for the solutions!

Weird to share my recent piece about running as one of my first posts here, but there you have it.

Trigger warning: the piece is about terminal illness & the prospect of losing a parent.

Oh, and running! It’s also about #running. And the ways that the body, and the land, can be #teachers too.

Chew on this: Trump's #education agenda includes project-based learning -- because, duh, capitalism:

"President Trump will support project-based learning inside the classroom to help train students for fulfilling work outside the classroom."

PBL folx, how do we jump on this train and hijack it?
