Today is the birthday of prolific comics letterer Ben Oda (Dec. 21, 1915-Nov. 18, 1984). Of Japanese-American ancestory, he was a paratrooper in the Army in World War II. He is most remembered today for his work with Simon & Kirby, with Harvey Kurtzman at EC Comics, & his many years at DC Comics.

I’m biased, but to heck with it: but Jimmy Olsen’s SuperCyclopedia by @sandyjarrell.com and m’self was the best kids comic of the year and everybody should have a copy of this wild cosmic roadtrip adventure that also serves as a fun primer on the DC Multiverse. It’s like Who’s Who meets…everything!
