This graphic (not mine) also does a really good job showing how much MLS is impacted by extreme heat, relative to other leagues.

I'm concerned about impact on in-person attendance like many people. But I also think that playing in 35º will result in better matches than playing in 95º.

MLS keeps citing a figure that says 91% of games, in the new schedule, will fall during the current league window. That's a little disingenuous, given that now they play just a handful of games in November/December, and with the new setup those will be normal regular-season weeks

BREAKING: MLS owners have voted and passed a schedule change. The league will run from the late summer months through May.

This is due to start in summer of 2027. MLS will take winter break in Jan/Feb

MLS Commissioner Don Garber is holding a special media availability today at 4:30 pm ET after the Board of Governors meeting. Expecting to receive confirmation that MLS will switch to a fall-to-spring schedule beginning in 2027.
