Congrats NWSL, you are becoming MLS
The good news for the NWSL: women’s soccer is growing thanks to increased investment and competition.

The bad news for the NWSL: women’s soccer is growing and the current salary cap is not gonna cut it.

Trinity Rodman is the final test. All in? Or fall behind? www.nytimes.com/athletic/681...
NWSL can’t keep Trinity Rodman and its current salary cap. It’s up to the league to choose
The rest of the world, and its biggest clubs, are watching the league's decision closely.

They fought on Saturday, to earn a win vs. Paraguay and not back down when an altercation broke out.

Matt Freese: "We’ll be sticking up for each other no matter the moment."

This graphic (not mine) also does a really good job showing how much MLS is impacted by extreme heat, relative to other leagues.

I'm concerned about impact on in-person attendance like many people. But I also think that playing in 35º will result in better matches than playing in 95º.

MLS keeps citing a figure that says 91% of games, in the new schedule, will fall during the current league window. That's a little disingenuous, given that now they play just a handful of games in November/December, and with the new setup those will be normal regular-season weeks

This is a very interesting situation for the MLSPA. Some may recall that the last round of CBA negotiations, held in the shadow of the COVID pandemic was... rugged, reportedly.

Reminder of what MLSPA exec dir Bob Foose said at the time:
