As an autistic girl who went to a high school for autistic people?
this is SO true. No one’s more ableist than a fellow neurodivergent person who thinks they can socially benefit from seemingly like the more “normal” one.
Being one of four (out) girls in a school of 100ish students didn’t help tho

No, not really. They'll have been conditioned for neurotypical expectations too, and are understanding only if your particular traits aren't an inconvenience to them also.
With better education this might change.
