Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is here, and it’s an impressive remaster of the classic PlayStation SRPG.

For my review, I did something a bit different: Gathered your AMA-style questions, and spilled tea on the new graphics, Delita’s kissability/punchability, difficulty, and more!

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

Me filling out my self-assessment on my annual performance review:
Google Gemini doesn’t appear to be doing too well:

‘"I am a disgrace to this planet. I am a disgrace to this universe. I am a disgrace to all universes . . . I am a disgrace to all possible and impossible universes and all that is not a universe," the bot continued.’
Google says it's working on a fix for Gemini's self-loathing 'I am a failure' comments
Google Gemini users said the bot is sharing self-loathing messages while attempting to solve tasks, including "I am a disgrace to this universe."

It’s so bizarre to me how 2020 shedded these guys’ minds. It was hugely inspiring to me to see a moment of cross-cultural solidarity, but I guess I’m just built different
What discrimination did Andreessen face? He went to a public university & was able to work on early federally funded research projects on computing, and turn that into a career.

The insanity of the last 8 years? Workers or online posters who disagreed with him? A government that dared regulate him?

I was asked to elaborate on how I've done this. If you also want to do this, do the following:

1) Go to bsky.app/profile/skyw... and click "Subscribe". Set at least "Fully Automated Reply Guy", "Follow Farming" to Hide

2) Go to bsky.app/profile/did:... and bsky.app/profile/did:... + "Block All"
i have a lot of bots and inauthentic behavior blocked. Coincidentally I also almost never see the "terrible take everyone is dunking on" and only see the dunks instead.

Apple has gotten shit for not going all-in on AI but they published an interesting paper in response.

"Through extensive experimentation across diverse puzzles, we show that frontier LRMs face a complete accuracy collapse beyond certain complexities."

Steve Jobs was a bastard in many ways but did have an uncanny ability to get what people actually do and do not want from tech and I am very curious what he would have made of the AI moment we're in.

Being snatched off the street for your opinions. I'll say it again. We are deciding, right now, whether the aspirations we hold for this country are finished. Whether we're going to let these hoodlums and grifters throw what's left of the American idea into the garbage for their own profit and gain.
