Almost certainly Seattle. Population went from 600k->800k, the city went from no rail system to a top-10 busiest network, region became an absolute economic powerhouse, there’s a total transformation of the waterfront, and so much more

I just boarded a plane and overheard the flight attendants saying they were “tired of Dolly.” United has a playlist during boarding that includes Coat of Many Colors.

I get it, nobody likes hearing a song over and over again, especially at work. But I can’t believe they spoke those words out loud.

Anyway, Young Frankenstein is still the best treatment of that story and it’s not even close.

One of the defining feelings in American life, for decades now, is elites doing plainly criminal shit and nothing at all happening as a result. It is deranging in a way that virtually nothing else is. Media fixates on perceived street lawlessness but shit like this matters much more in my opinion.

I only have 19 flight segments to go this year. I love Russian Roulette.

There was a story in the WSJ last week about a guy from California in his 60s whose ACA premiums are going to jump to $35,000 a year.

Or he can move overseas for six months and a day per year and get travel insurance that also works domestically for $700 per month or $8,400.

the Democrats who are are considered by R's as possible “yes” votes for the deal.
Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

I just left messages for both of my senators. It took no time at all. Please consider doing this if you oppose this ridiculous “deal”.

The Seahawks are too much fun to watch right now. Unbelievable.

This has been a bad weekend for Seattle sports fans so far. The Seahawks really need to come through tomorrow.

OVER A MILLION USERS

DISCUSS SUICIDE WITH CHATGPT

EVERY *WEEK*

what the fuck are we DOING here
Panera’s moderately caffeinated lemonade was loosely associated with 2 deaths before it was taken off market.

This article alone has 4 examples of ChatGPT encouraging young people to commit suicide, and OpenAI’s own public stats estimate over a million users discuss suicide with ChatGPT each week.
I fully believe in the corporate death penalty and believe we would be a better world if OpenAI lost its corporate charter and was forcibly dissolved.

I have 23 more flight segments to go by December 19th. I need an advent calendar for flights. I’ll end the year with 91 flight segments which is, brutally, a personal record.

It was indeed not as devastating.
I’m on a flight to DC right now on Election Day. It just occurred to me that the last time I flew to DC was one year ago today — also on Election Day. I’m confident today won’t be as devastating.

That’s not only the best World Series I’ve ever seen, but all things considered, that might be the best season of baseball I’ve ever seen.

The only other player who could’ve hit the pitch that Guerrero hit and keep it fair was Edgar Martinez.

You can go two months without a force out at home. This game had two within 3 outs of each other.
More baseball games should have multiple force outs at home, imo

I can’t think of a better World Series in my lifetime. Holy shit.
November 2, 2025 at 3:40 AM
