Storytellers...maybe consider allowing the pets in your stories to live and thrive? Especially Horror books, the Horror genre is exceptionally cruel to animals. I am so traumatized, daily, by the treatment of animals in real life...maybe just for once, LET THE DOG LIVE in fictional stories?? jfc

Great book this. Deserved a much longer shelf life. Maybe buy a copy?
The Knock-Knock Man is 3 today. It’s been a rocky road with the publisher going under 4 months later (not related) & hoped for sequel being shelved (for now) So grateful to those that have supported my little horror noir. Signed copies can still be bought here -> www.russellmardell.co.uk/more-info

Flat out the perfect summation:

"It is not ours to give away."
Fantastic ending to Baroness Kidron's speech in the House of Lords yesterday, which led to the government's defeat on AI & copyright.

Speaking the UK's creators: "Their property, their labour, is worthy of your protection - because apart from anything else, it is not ours to give away."

Short stories are great, like novels but without all the padding and descriptions of people's noses. Often a single idea, mood, or incident, delivered as a sharp hit. These particular collections of stories, wot I wrote, are very 'dippable'; read one story every now and then, in any order you like.
Between them ‘Municipal Gothic’ and ‘Intervals of Darkness’ have 27 stories full of haunted buildings, haunted people, and working class weirdness. Obviously *I* think they're great – but so do strangers who owe me nothing!

Writers: before you sign a contract with a publisher, make sure AI isn't replacing your illustrator, your translator, your editor, your jacket designer. Readers: if you're thinking of buying a book, do the same. Refuse. Resist. If AI garbage doesn't sell, people will stop making it.
