I read and review books. On several ARC/Street teams, two lovely websites, via book tours, and plain old text on my blog, Amazon, Goodreads and all the socials.

I've been called an influencer but it's not about me - it's about sharing the stories we need right now.

" It’s a movie, so unsure of what it wants to be, scary satire? Heartfelt buddy comedy? Jungle adventure? that it ends up as nothing."

My review of Anaconda 2025 is up. The snake isn't the only thing that's lifeless. A soggy, unfunny meta-mess that wastes Black & Rudd. A real missed strike.

I cut through the local park to get home from work in the morning, but there are no streetlights. There is a small curved path with a large hedge running along the right-hand side.

This morning, someone left a half-deflated football in the hedge.....

"You finish it. And you feel the dirt, that metaphorical dirt, still there. Under your nails. In the creases of your skin. A residue of Scratch Moss. It doesn’t wash off easy. Barnett hasn’t just written a novel; he’s conducted a séance for a whole way of life, and the thing that haunted it."

Withered Hill, by @davidmbarnett.bsky.social (pub by @canelobooks.bsky.social) is quite an excellent folk horror novel, one that trusts the reader to put it all together and whose atmosphere remembers of Midsommar's.

ARCs of Jeff Noon's new novel, Moon Over Brendle, are in production.

A fantastical memoir? A ghost story? High-concept SF? Existential fantasy? A celebration of storytelling?

All of the above? Probably. Wholly Jeff Noon yet quite unlike anything else he's written? Pretty much. Amazing? Definitely
