I've written a big piece for the Observer about the Big C. Would be lovely if you find time to read it sometime and feel free to share.

Man: But, Doctor, I AM Pagliacci!

Doctor: …

“So, what are we called, again?”

“Challengers of the Unknown.”

“OK. Um, and it means..?”

“We find unknown stuff and… challenge it.”

“Gotcha. So… like, challenge it? Like, argue it’s not actually unknown? Or that it is unknown but not… spooky? Sorry, not really—“

Just going through comics pitches and outlines and I reckon I have enough material for about four years of a new Hellblazer/Constantine ongoing series. (None of the pitches ever sent, obvs, as you have to wait to be asked, not send on-spec unsolicited ideas).

There is a man in our local park with a huge vintage ghetto blaster over his shoulder, smoking weed and blasting out Queen’s Greatest Hits. I do not believe he is a portent of great things to come in 2026.

Absolutely made up to be one of this kid's favourite books of the year. In noble company with @jamiesmart.bsky.social and a Pokémon book (list books ftw!) #UkKidLit What a way to kick off Loki's #NationalYearOfReading
“A big favourite for 2025 was Loki: A Bad God’s Guide to Being Good by @louiestowell.bsky.social, a retelling of Norse myth that brings the trickster God Loki down to Earth to live as an 11-year-old boy.”
