From out of the depths of the blogosphere came a mighty whimper, a being of total incompetence. With his mighty powers of making it up as he goes along comes Fantasy Book Nerd. A being of less than average qualities who reads books and talks shite!

NEW REVIEW: One of my infrequent reviews for this month is Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison. As you will notice there is very little about the plot of the book in this review, primarily because it is best to go into this book blind.

One of the books I am flicking through is this one. I am loving looking at the fantastic pictures and anecdotal stories of the films, the people and the industry.

Well, that’s another Christmas dine. Managed to get thorough it relatively unscathed. For all those that celebrate Christmas, I hope you all had a lovely day. For those that don’t or it is a different religion completely, I wish all the best to you and yours🥰

I have watched two versions of A Christmas Carol today. First it was the only version, the 1951 version with Alistair Sim. And secondly The Muppet Christmas Carol, which is the only other version.

Jim over at GNOH talks about the trials of 2025 in an open and candid manner about pain, both physically and mentally and his road to recovery, and ultimately dealing with the hurt caused by those around him.

Happy Christmas Jim!

Oh, I thought the mass of shit that pisses me off was over but oh no! Why can’t my kids put anything in the dishwasher? I know what the answer will be. It will be “Well, I don’t know if the pots are clean or dirty”.

Well! Here’s a revo - fuckin - lutionary idea! Open it up and look!

Oh and one final rant! Why on Threads is there an option to do “A.I. Summary” of your post. What? Why? I wrote it! Just read it! It’s about 240 characters long! I don’t need no A.I. Bullshit wanker summary tyvm.

Ok! Rants over

And another thing! Why is Spotify telling me about a free 3 month trial of audiobooks+ and then when I look at it it goes ‘sorry you can’t make changes to your plan on the app, we know it’s not ideal’.
Not ideal? It’s feckin useless mate! Get a feckin grip!

I realise I use the word proper a lot. I think it’s a Yorkshire thing. The use of the word proper before a word elevates whatever it is to a higher standard. If it’s proper good, it’s really good. However, if someone is a proper bastard it takes bastardom that one step further!

Had a proper big cooking disaster today. Was trying to make gnocchi and I don’t think I put enough flour in so they went all squishy and soggy. Luckily was able to save dinner by sticking some pasta on.

I always join in those ‘post a film that you have seen more than xxx amount of times’. I will generally put something in that I have seen but never put this down, which I have seen goodness knows how many times.
